Jos os on the mound Frank White Jersey , but I sure was wrong. This was a not pretty, back-and-forth game between the two teams that sat atop the AL Central at the beginning of the game, and not a game like the War of 1812.Things got started pretty early as the Minnesota Twins saw the first two pitches from Brad Keller and did a thing with both pitches: one was a grounder to the outfield by Max Kepler and one was a pop-up by Jorge Polanco. The Kansas City Royals also saw the first two pitches from Berr铆os and one-upped the Twins with their action to those pitches: one was a double from Whit Merrifield, and the other was an RBI single by Adalberto Mondesi followed by a stolen base. Each team left runners on the bases the next two innings and then traded a 1 spot in the fourth, courtesy of a C.J. Cron single for the Twins and a Chris Owings triple followed by a sacrifice fly by Hunter Dozier to give the Royals the lead back with a score of 2-1. The Twins perked up in response and with Byron Buxton on second and Max Kepler on first after a hit-by-pitch and a walk, Nelson Cruz took a fastball on a 3-0 count to right field to bring in both runners. Twins lead 3-2. Berr铆os did not have the same game that he did on Opening Day. He was pushed around a bit for seven innings: 7 H, 3 ER, 4 K. The last run he gave up was a homer to right field off the bat of Ryan O’Hearn in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game at three runs apiece. The Twins decided that they were hungry and ordered some LOBster in the seventh inning. Kepler, Jorge Polanco, and Cruz, all got on base via a boink in front of the mound, a bunt, and a walk, respectively. They were the LOB of the LOBster trio as Eddie Rosario, Cron, and Marwin Gonzalez wiffed , lined out, and struck out. In the bottom of the eighth, shades of Sweet Drew Butera showed up as Mondesi hit a deep fly ball to center field off Taylor Rogers. Showing little restraint at all, like a magnet to metal, Buxton collided with the center field wall and fell, losing track of the ball for a bit and finally getting it back in as Mondesi was rounding third on the way to an inside-the-park home run. Royals lead 4-3.Eddie Rosario comes to the rescue in the ninth by driving in Polanco, the tying run, in from second on a line drive to center field. Alas, additional LOBster was ordered as Rosario and Gonzalez were both stranded on the bases. Rogers came in for two more outs in the bottom of the ninth before yielding two singles. Rocco Baldelli opted to go with Trevor Hildenberger, who forced the game into extra innings on a three-pitch strikeout of Billy Hamilton. WILLIANS ASTUDILLO got things started in the tenth with a single to right field and with two outs, Polanco walked. Cruz was giving another chance after a hit ball was ruled a hit by the third-base umpire and foul by the home plate umpire with the home plate umpire overruling after a discussion. On the third pitch after that, Cruz put a single into right field, scoring Astudillo and putting the Twins on top for good. Blake Parker came into the game for the Twins and shut the door on the Royals in four batters, striking out one, and notching his first save of the season.Twins 5, Royals 4 (10 inn.)W: Hildenberger (1-0)L: Boxberger (1-0)S: Parker (1)Notes: Leaping into walls is something that Buxton has not learned his lesson about and was taken out of the game to be evaluated for back pain.Rogers’ scoreless inning streak ended tonight at 28.2 innings after the inside-the-park home run. THE TWINS ARE IN FIRST PLACE OF THE AL CENTRAL AGAIN!STUDS:Nelson Cruz: 2-5 , 3 RBI, BB, KC.J. Cron: 2-5, RBI, KTrevor Hildenberger and Blake Parker: combined 1.1 IP, BB, KDUDS:I’m bucking the trend of “NO DUDS - TWINS WIN” (sorry not sorry). Eddie Rosario: 1-5, R, RBI, BB, K, 7 LOBsterByron Buxton: crashing into a wall you must notROBOT ROLL CALL:#Commenter# Comments BALTIMORE (AP) — The Baltimore Orioles haven’t had many shining moments this season — except against the New York Mets.Chris Davis, Adam Jones and Tim Beckham each homered to back a strong performance by starter Andrew Cashner, and the Orioles beat New York 6-3 on Tuesday night to snap a five-game skid.Baltimore won both games against the Mets at Citi Field on June 5-6 and can complete the season sweep Wednesday.Cashner (4-10) retired 10 consecutive batters before Jeff McNeil singled on a ground ball that caromed off first base in the fourth. Cashner allowed two runs and five hits with three strikeouts and three walks over seven innings.“You can talk about a lot of things about the game but it starts with the outing that Andrew had,” Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. “He was solid. You could tell he was carrying good stuff in the first inning. Really attacking the bottom of the zone. I think he kind of set the tone in the first inning.”Davis broke a 2-2 tie with a towering shot in the seventh off Bobby Wahl (0-1). Renato Nunez added an RBI single later that inning off Paul Sewald.“Chris can carry a ballclub for a long time, so seeing him hit that homer tonight was definitely big Alcides Escobar Jersey ,” Cashner said. “Beckham and Jones, both homers were big.”Davis has struggled much of the season, batting .162 with 15 home runs. The go-ahead homer was much-needed relief.“It was nice to see a positive result, not only personally but as a team to get a win,” he said.Beckham had a two-run homer in the ninth to make it 6-2.New York pulled within three when Brandon Nimmo tripled and scored on a throwing error by reliever Miguel Castro. Mychal Givens entered and retired three straight batters to pick up his fourth save. The Orioles took a 1-0 lead off Mets starter Jason Vargas in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Mark Trumbo, who was given a platelet-rich plasma injection in his sore right knee Monday.Vargas allowed two runs over six innings, his longest outing of the season. He is winless in six career starts at Camden Yards.“I felt like I was in control of what I was doing,” Vargas said. “That was nice to go out and feel like I did (tonight). Unfortunately it hasn’t been that way for me this year. Tonight was a step in the right direction. I haven’t felt like this since some time last year.”New York took a 2-1 lead in the fifth on a pair of two-out RBI singles by Kevin Plawecki and Amed Rosario.Jones tied it in the sixth with a drive over the left field fence.MOVEJones will go on the bereavement list to attend a funeral following the series finale Wednesday. He must stay on the list a minimum of three days.POWER DUODavis and Jones have homered in the same game 43 times, the most by any teammates currently in MLB.TRAINER’S ROOMMets: OF Jay Bruce (sore right hip) went 0-2 with a strikeout and walk in three plate appearances in his first rehab start for Class A St. Lucie. He played five innings in right field. … LHP Steven Matz, who is dealing with a strained flexor pronator in his left arm, did not have any setbacks in a simulated game. He is on schedule to start Thursday in Philadelphia.Orioles: INF Steve Wilkerson (oblique) had his first rehab assignment Tuesday in the Gulf Coast League and went 3 for 3 with a double and two RBIs.UP NEXTMets: Zack Wheeler (7-6, 3.82 ERA) is looking to win his sixth consecutive start.
